Depression

Although depression is very common, many people struggle to find
effective depression treatment. However, depression is
treatable.
When you are depressed it is easy to feel that there is no light
at the end of the tunnel, and that depression treatment is
hopeless. This isn’t the case. Most people with depression are
able to recover.
The most up to date evidence based treatment for depression
is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as recommended by
the National Institute for Clinical Excellence. (NICE) CBT helps
people challenge and change the negative thought patterns which
propel the downward spiral of mood.
In addition, depressed people often benefit from Suggestion
Hypnotherapy sessions which help to reinforce the new,
positive thought patterns.
In some cases a brief exploration and Analysis of the
underlying causes of the depression can be helpful to help
understand the origin and nature of the problem.
Sometimes the trigger can be GRIEF or LOSS issues
following BEREAVEMENT. While it is normal to feel sad and
upset for quite some time following a bereavement, more
significant depression usually indicates that the person might
benefit from exploring those issues that are keeping them
‘stuck’ in a low and negative mood.
POST NATAL DEPRESSION
This is another problem that can be helped using a combination
of CBT and Hypnotherapy. Post natal depression is not simply due
to hormonal changes and it can lead to further episodes of
depression and long-term problems if left untreated.
